Preferred books of
mechanical operation in PTU
1. McCabe
Warner L., Smith Julian C., & Harriot P., (unit operations of
chemical engg.), 7th Ed., McGraw Hill, 2005.
2. Perry R. H., Green D.W., (chemical engineers
handbook), 8th Ed., McGraw Hill, 2008.
Above mentioned first book is very
useful and is preferred as reference book
for mechanical operation in chemical engineering.
Perry’s handbook is very useful
and is preferred as reference book for
various competition in chemical engineering
Preferred books of
Chemical Process Calculation (CPC) in PTU
1.
Himmelbleau D.M., Riggs J. B., (basic principles
and calculations of chemical engg.), 7th Ed., Prentice Hall, 2004.
This is the preferred reference
book for chemical process calculation in chemical engineering.
Preferred books of
Fluid Flow (FF) in PTU
1.
McCabe
Warner L., Smith Julian C., & Harriot P., (unit operations of
chemical engg.), 7th Ed., McGraw Hill, 2005.
2.
D. S. Kumar (fluid mechanics and fluid power
engineering), Katson Books
Smith’s book is preferred
reference book for Fluid Flow in chemical engineering but most of the teachers
prefer D.S. Kumar in PTU because it is easy to understand.
Preferred books of
Strength of Material (SOM) in PTU
1.
Bansal R. K., (strength of materials), Luxmi
Publishers
2.
R. S. Khurmi
Bansal’s book is preferred
reference book for Strength of Material in chemical engineerin and is preferred
for various competition but teachers sometimes refer Khurmi’s book because it
is easy.
Preferred books of Chemical Engineering
Thermodynamics (CET) in PTU
1.
Smith J. M., and Van Ness H. C., (introduction
to chemical engineering thermodynamics), McGraw Hill.
This is the best preferred
reference book for chemical engineering thermodynamics in chemical engineering
and is preferred for GATE and other competitions. However it is difficult to
understand but it is the best.
