Banaras Hindu University Admission Process 2019: Application Form, Exam Dates, Syllabus, Eligibility, Fee Structure
Banaras Hindu University commonly referred to as BHU; formerly known as Central Hindu College is a public central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. The university will conduct separate BHU Entrance Exam 2019 for UG & PG programmes, i.e. UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) & PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test). It is organized for providing admission to the UG, PG & diploma/certificate courses offered by the University itself & its affiliated colleges. Provided below is the complete steps to filling the BHU Application Form.
Registration
Visit the official website of BHU (link is given above). Now click the option “Click here to Apply” provided on the website for various programmes. Read all the information carefully provided on the website. Register yourself by clicking on the Registration link. Fill up the basic details like Name, DOB, Father’s name, Email Id, Mother’s name and Mobile number. Now sign up after verifying all the entered details for registration.
After submitting all the details for registration, a confirmation SMS/E-mail will be sent to candidate’s registered email id or mobile number. Click on the link provided in the email and confirm your registration.
Fill the Application Form
After confirming the registration, candidates will be provided with the login details which will be sent to the candidates in their registered mobile number and email id. Now sign up using the provided login credentials. Fill your Aadhaar card details and select your course. Now fill your personal, communication, address and other details as asked in the application form. After filling all the required fields, click on the Save button after verifying all the filled details.
Upload Your Image and Signature
After filling the application form, the next step is to upload your scanned passport size photograph and signature. Candidates must make sure that they upload their images as per the specifications prescribed by the University. The photograph and signature of the candidate must be of a size within 3.5 X 4.5 cm, scanning resolution should be within 100 dpi and the size of the file should not be more than 100 KB.
Preview and Edit
Now candidates can preview their application form and see all the details filled in the application form. If in case any candidate wants to edit any detail in the application form, he/she can make any corrections before clicking on the ‘I confirm the above’ option. Candidates cannot make any corrections in their application form after clicking the confirm button.
Make Application Fee Payment
Now candidates have to make application fee payment. For this, candidates are required to click on the ‘Make Payments’ option given on the Dashboard. Now candidates can pay the fee online by the payment gateway through debit/credit card or net banking method. Also, candidates can pay the fee in cash by Challan method by visiting any of the branches of HDFC Bank.
Printing the Application Form
The last step is to check the status of the Application Form. Candidates can check their successful submission of the Application form by visiting the ‘My Applications’ section. Your application form is successfully submitted if the Application status column shows “Entrance test fee paid’ and a payment id appears underpayment id column. Now candidates can take the print out of the application form for use in future.
BHU 2019 Application Form can be filled by the candidates from 11th February 2019 for both UG and PG courses. Candidates after filling the application form are not required to send the form to BHU by offline mode.

Application Fee
- The application fee can be deposited through online (credit card/debit card) & offline (Challan) modes.
- The Challan can be made from any branch of HDFC bank.

For UET Courses
Age Criteria:
- Candidates should not be more than 22 years on 1st July 2019.
- 5 years relaxation in upper age limits for SC/ST & PC categories.
- 3 years relaxation in upper age limit for OBC category.

Note: For SC/ST candidates, there will be no requirement for the minimum percentage of marks (except LLB/BA LLB (Hons.). For OBC & PC candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate.

- Exam Pattern
- For UET:
- Shifts: The examination will be organized into two shifts, i.e. 8:00 AM onwards (1st Shift) & 3:00 p.m. onwards (2nd Shift).
- Exam Mode: The examination will be held in both online & offline mode.
- Language: The questions will be asked in English & Hindi language.
- Duration: The duration of exam will be 2 hours & 2½ hours as per the courses.
- Number of Questions: In the examination total 150 multiple choice questions will be asked.
- Total Marks: The question paper will be of 450 marks.
- Marking Scheme: For the correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded.
- Negative Marking: For the incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.
For PET:
- Shifts: The examination will be conducted in three shifts, i.e. 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM (1stshift), 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM (2nd Shift) & 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (3rd Shift).
- Exam Mode: The exam will be held in offline mode.
- Number of Questions: Total 120 multiple choice questions will be asked in the examination.
- Duration: The exam duration will be 2 hours.
- Total Marks: The question paper will be of 360 marks.
- Marking Scheme: For the correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded.
- Negative Marking: For the incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted.
BHU Syllabus 2019
For UG courses, the syllabus is comprised of 10+2 or equivalent examinations subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology. The PG courses syllabus contain topics & chapters of graduation level. It includes the question from the relevant field/course opted by the candidates. The law exam syllabus comprises of General Awareness and Current Affairs, Common Legal Knowledge, Aptitude and Mental Ability sections.
